So we were home rather decently about 7pm last night. Getting off site about 1pm or just before the massive rain came down on us. Had lunch in Idaho Falls are our fav place to get scones....hmmm scones....Anyways the road home was not bad. Elias and I both where rather tired, he drove I slept off an on, till we get outside Rexburg.

I feel the rumble strip yet again wondering what was going on. He pulled over an I asked if he was alright, he said "We're pulled over". I blinked a few times and leaned forward to see the car behind us. Yep us are pulled over by Idaho's Finest. He seen the truck "weaving" and the cracked windshield. As well wanted to check on what was up and the usual seat belt checks. He asks where we been, where we going. Tell him we went camping in Shelley and going home to Bozeman, and left it at that. Didn't even bring up SCA at this point, safer that way over all.

Elias gives over the drivers license and the insurance card, I'm pawing the jockey box for the registration papers. I can't find them. I put them in the truck after I got the tags an that's that. The guy was good matured about it and said since the tags where good till the end of the month and that everything else was in the clear we where good to go. Just after he leaves, I find the damned registration paper. And away we go again...

And we get to "The Divide" Continental Divide that divides Montana and Idaho, swap drivers so he can pass out an I dive on. On the way home thur that small silver that is Yellowstone we drove past a Black Bear running across the road in front of us. And off the side in the marsh area with fence, some of you know the area I'm talking about, a Moose in velvet sooo purdy. So a SAFE trip home with no encounters with the *^$&% four footed kind that cause messes with trucks.

So I offer here my link to my flickr account with what few picutres I took at Uprising. I was busy with my peer, Duchess Caryn, taking classes, doing the Royal thing, some time at Heralds Point and general fun time. Give me another day and I will give the link to my YouTube. I recorded something special and cool and well seeing is better than me trying to butcher talking about it.

sinefergusson: (Default)
Nothing like zipping the hems of a tunic thur the sewing machine at the last minute at like midnight. Green, short sleeved camp tunic that will need some work next time I have a moment. After last year's Uprising I really did not feel good from the heat. The go go go to get there days after the wedding that I decided that I wanted something that will let me look "dressed" and not die from the heat. In looking at the weather.com page for the next few days....good thing I have wool for at night wanderings. Just pray the rain does not happen till we're everyone off site Sunday.

Currently left to pack now is:

- Get packed for myself
- Fire Pit
- Fire Wood
- Goodies for the Brunch

I say that is rather good short list after yesterday. Getting myself packed is the easy part, making sure I have all I need is another. So we're already off the schedule we set for ourselves, just hope like to get out of here before 10am now.
sinefergusson: (Complanting)
So I talked about April complete with picutres even. May was alright, rented a car to go to Kingdom A&S took Andrew with Elias and I so he could meet Cas. I loved the rental car, a Saturn that purred when you drove, vera nice. And May has been catch up month with bills, and sewing for the Gold Key. I decided that after the two Saturdays in May for all Gold Key, I am going to be working on my own things for awhile. I made in two days a camp sideless and almost finished my green tunic for myself. I'd love to work on another kirtle, maybe party colored in my colors this next time.

Now for June its been more sewing to get myself caught up, finding things for Uprising, making the camp map so we know where everyone camps, go see my folks up at the Lake for a day what fun that was. I love my folks, but was bored. And now getting things washed up, packed up, found to set aside for the tote and get myself packed up. I love Elias but I am not packing him, he's on his own.

So this is my list more so so I can look at it and then cross off come times when I get it done.

- Make the shopping list
- Find Taco Soup fixings
- Shop Walmart
- Bank
- Pay two bills
- Take Dodge for fueling and some cleaning
- Finish washing clothes
- Find basket for my goodies to keep me entertained
- Pack Camera
- Find spare fans to share if necessary
- Check to make sure shades an tables are in the truck
- Water Coolers brought over for Camp use
- Get the coolers out and cleaned
- Finish hemming Green Tunic
- Check the feast gear
- Bag for dirty laundry
- Get packed for myself
- Fire Pit

- Goodies for the Brunch
- Fire Wood

Ask me after is we got the last two things

Elias woke me slightly, more so my right hip. Get a kiss good bye, time - 05:30 and off he is to work. I have to tell him to not push his hand into my hip it hurt too much. I lay there after he leaves, trying to get comfortable. I even put his pillow between my knees it does nothing to help. I lay there in pain till I can't take it anymore. Get out of bed, hobble out to the living and here I am. Time - 06:00 and I've only had four hours of sleep, I see nap coming in about two hours.

The one-day content strike is on for this Friday, March 21, from midnight GMT to midnight GMT.

For 24 hours, we will not post or comment to LJ. Not in our own journals, not in communities. Not publicly, privately, or under friends-lock.

This is a protest that will have long-lasting effects, showing up forever in the daily posting statistics.

This is a protest that will not harm LJ in the long run, as leaving LJ might do.

This is a protest that will demonstrate the power of community, as all users unite to support Basic users, the concept of adfree space, and our right to enjoy any interests we choose.

This is a protest that will educate the new owners that LJ is driven by user-created content.

How Can You Help?

DO post about this in your own LJ.
DO post and comment about it in appropriate communities.
DO remember that it's based on Greenwich Mean Time, which may not be your local time.
DO turn off LoudTwitter and your RSS feeds for 24 hours.

DON'T forget to get permission from community mods before making an off-topic post or comment about the strike.
DON'T be spammy with your posts or comments about the strike.
DON'T forget to turn your LoudTwitter and RSS feeds back on when the strike is over.

Appropriate Times

The 24-hour strike will begin at the following times for the following locations:

Thursday, March 20, 2:00 PM -- Honolulu
Thursday, March 20, 4:00 PM -- Anchorage
Thursday, March 20, 5:00 PM -- San Francisco; Los Angeles

A more complete list of local times can be found here.

Why Are We Striking?

We are holding the Content Strike because we want to demonstrate that LiveJournal is content-driven.

We are holding the Content Strike because we want the new owners of LiveJournal to better understand the power and resolve of the LJ Community of Users.

We are holding the Content Strike because all of us, Paid, Permanent and Plus users as well as Basic, want to demonstrate our solidarity as a Community of Users. We do not consider Basic users to be freeloaders, we consider them to be valuable content-providers and Friends.

We are holding the Content Strike because we ache to do something to show our displeasure, and commenting on the news post -- even with cat macros -- just isn't powerful enough!

The strike has four terms:

1. Restore basic accounts for new account creation.

2. Inform users before any change to the site that affects how we use the site or demands on our resources.

3. Run change proposals by the Advisory Board and take their advice into account before implementation of any change.

4. Homophobia, misogyny, and racism must not be a part of the decision making processes about appropriate content of the site, including what user interests are deemed appropriate.

NOTE: We are aware that there may be good business decisions for eliminating Basic accounts. If Basic accounts are to be eliminated, though, that action should be taken only after approval of the Advisory Board and consultation with the LJ Community of Users.

Will This Make Any Difference?

The protests are making a difference. Within the last three hours (as of 3pm March 17, '08), the censored interests have been restored!

If you look at the Popular Interests page, you will once again see the formerly filtered "fanfiction", "depression", "bisexuality" -- even "faeries". LiveJournal is once again presenting its true face to the world, not a sanitized blandness.

Please continue to spread the word about the Content Strike. We are not merely consumers. We are a Community of Users, and we will be heard.

LiveJournal Content Strike, Friday, March 21, midnight to midnight GMT.

No posts. No comments. No content.

I don't keep up with this as much as I thought I'd like to. It was a nice pipe dream thats for sure. I'm here in B-town helping Shauna recoup from having her right knee replaced. Its a slower go this time around. But the upside is I'm going home on the 1st of March.

I have moments I feel like ranting about things but then nothing comes. I get testy and cranky with whats going on and I don't do anything about it. But when that happens it seems like the shit festers on me and when something that is a small thing, should not be an issue, gets blown up. I'm learning not to get to that point, but its hard. I'm learning not to get too cranky about somethings. But let me tell you, plotting your own wedding ain't easy. Don't let anyone tell you other wise. You can have the book that gives you all the places to put things and what or who to call and price charts and all that crap. Its not overly helpful. I'm to the point I might as well as do my own wedding guide. A wedding guide for the bride who is doing their wedding for under $5,000.

Wedding stuff I'm sure I'll rant on about later, but my rant of the day came from some blond with teenage son in tow at the post office. I was picking up the Laurel mail box for Shauna as thats part of my running after PT with her. I'm walking in I over hear this woman in front of me all the way to the back of the Po box area about why she can't find the Passport office. I was polite and asked her about it and said its threw the main postal area. She thanked me and went that way.

So here I am walking back empty handed and I see her and her son, standing in line as if she's got to mail things. I stand for a moment looking at her and the window with the HUGE ASS sign says "PASSPORTS HERE". How in the BlueHell do you miss that?? So I go up to her, "Ma'am. . the passport office is over here." I point the way, she looks up from her "Blackberry" at me then the window and goes, "OH. . thank you" and walks on. Now How in the blue blazes do you not see that? Its like she didn't look up to whats going on around her. Her son was not any bette. Then again some kids just don't speak up as the parents are liken to slap them down for anything that could show the child might be abit more smarter than they are.

So that was my rant. . Take care of yourselves and remember to look up to whats going on around you. Those on F-list are smarter than this woman, but as this is not locked; this is for those who might not be so lucky to have nice people point things out to them.

So I picked up Elias from work and went right to Verizon to deal with the phone issue. I was lucky when I asked to talk to a manger I got the night manager on duty tonight. I told her of the first replacement phone an the screen that didn't light up when the phone rang. Now with the second replacement phone the speaker didn't want to work nor did it ring when you called it or someone calling you. That sucked, having someone get on you because you weren't answer his calls, when you didn't even know he was calling.

After she messed with the phone and some terse words from me she got Elias a different model of phone after the last two 'new' ones where shit. She even gave a new phone case and car charger as well because we had all the old ones with us. So at lest this didn't cost anything, thank god. And when they want to move your phone book for you an take forever because they are too busy doing things for the other 'monkey's' in the store, just ask for the phone and use the Verizon backup site yourself. Saves time and waiting on the slowpokes, I had to ask for the phone back she didn't even have it hooked up the machine like she was saying she was doing. Seeing as I do my phone and everything for Elias just save me from standing around, I don't do that well when I've got other things to be doing.

Anyways, got a new phone so far so go and got the other two phone's mailed back via FedEx back to the main Verizon hub to deal with them. I feel for the others who might have to get the refurbished phones. It's you have that option but when they don't work it sucks and is frustrating on the user/owner end. So. . .finish doing my thing and off to bed as I'm still feeling like crap.
sinefergusson: (Shawn Bitch)
Anyhow I know I've not be heard from but today I feel the urge to vent. Strong language ahead. . . Elias and I have been dealing with his phone that is just beat up, almost had it two years now. We replaced the battery but he was needing a new phone. We had paid insurance for it, or so we thought. Seems that if you buy a phone from an authorized dealer and pay insurance its not the same as buying it directly from Verizon. But they seen I've got insurance on my phone and when I said I know we paid insurance for his because we paid up front for it. Well you don't, its per month on the phone bill. Anyways they where nice to help us. $50 got us a new battery and the replacement phone. Got it FedEx to the house and all should have been good to go.

Uhhh fuck no it ain't good to go.

The 'new' phone has it's own issues. As in it does not want to 'light up' when a call comes in, so you can't see who's calling. Or if you hit the volume button on the side to just light it up to see what the time is it won't. You damn near have to bounce it off the ground to make it work. Or smack it like you're packing smokes, yes I do know how to do that, don't ask. So Elias went in told them, good thing it was him because I get rather ugly when things aren't going right. So sent us a new phone yet again, that came today.

"New" phone #2 comes FedEx, since I know I can just set it up myself here at home I do. Things are good, it lights up like it should, no packing it like a pack of smokes to get it to light up. . .BUT it does not fucking ring. Not one God Damned sound out of unless you're pushing buttons. What The Fuck, Over?!? Just got this piece of shit phone, this phone is to be new and the fucker don't want to ring. It can vibrate, but that don't help Elias when he's in the truck and has to hear it ring to know who's calling.

So I'm going to get my sick ass dressed. Yes a wonderful head cold has come to visit me and I'm miserable, and just what I want to do is deal with some asshats who just won't send a good phone to begin with. I'll post when I get home on how this all goes down. Lets hope I don't start slinging about the F'word at them. I don't like to get that ugly, but I CANNOT deal with stupid and/or ignorant people.

So I didn't get the massive update done like I wanted. I might end up doing that when I get back.
Yes I'm off to go camping with the family. Myself, Elias, My folks, my brother, his girlfriend and all her family. Everyone getting to meet everyone for the first time. Well the girlfriend and I meeting for the first time as my brother and Elias meet for the first time too. I get to see and hold my niece for the first time too. She'll be a year old in Oct.

So its fishing, some drinking with the parental units ;-), and hoping I don't do something stupid like tell off the brother's girlfriend. Long story will tell another time.
